Star Wide Receiver Injured in Divisional Round Win
SANTA CLARA - Deebo Samuel's status for the NFC Championship remains uncertain after the San Francisco 49ers' 24-21 Divisional Round victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.
Samuel exited the game in the first quarter with a left shoulder injury. He briefly returned to the sidelines after testing it out but eventually went to the locker room. The official status of his injury is still unknown, but Samuel was reportedly in good spirits afterward.
If Samuel is unable to play in the NFC Championship, it would be a significant blow to the 49ers. The versatile wide receiver has been one of the most dangerous playmakers in the NFL this season, scoring 14 touchdowns and gaining over 1,700 yards from scrimmage.
The 49ers will host the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship on Sunday, January 29th. The winner will advance to Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.
