Early Career

Edwards attended Therrell High School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he led his team to the state championship as a senior. He then played for the Holy Spirit Prep School in Atlanta, Georgia, before committing to the University of Georgia for college.

Despite a successful freshman season at Georgia, Edwards declared for the 2020 NBA Draft and was selected first overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

NBA Career

In his rookie season, Edwards averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. In his sophomore season, he improved his numbers to 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
